Marvel Pinball Playstation Network
LOS ANGELES, CA - ZEN Studios and Marvel Entertainment are pleased to announce the release of Marvel Pinball today on PlayStation®Network North America, and tomorrow on PlayStation®Network Europe. Featuring The Amazing Spider-Man, The Invincible Iron Man, Wolverine and Blade, Marvel Pinball delivers an epic pinball experience chalk full of boss fights, crazy pinball modes and even exploding pumpkin bomb balls!
Staying true to the essence of each Super Hero, Marvel Pinball table was designed from the ground up to capture the personality and insignia of each character. Fans will instantly recognize objects and moments in each table as they battle to take down Super Villains and unlock a massive amount of game play modes, while also enjoying fresh boost to Superscores and Wizard Scores.
The Blade table features what some people on ZEN’s team are calling “the most stunning visuals you will ever see on a pinball table”. It’s got night mode, UV pinballs and a plethora of vampires. Hannibal’s in there too, somewhere. This will likely be the last time I post something about this game until my review, unless ZEN happens to launch a tournament or something. In the mean time, you can check out www.marvelpinball.com to vote for the next character to get their own table.
ZEN Studios and Marvel Entertainment announced the release of Marvel Pinball for Playstation Network yesterday. The game, which launched last week as the first expansion pack for Pinball FX 2 on Xbox Live Arcade, is available as a standalone title for $9.99 USD and features four tables styled after different characters in the Marvel Universe – Iron Man , Spider-Man, Wolverine and Blade. Since we already gave all of that information over and over again when ZEN released the trailers and screenshots for the other tables , I’ll just go straight to saying that with this week’s announcement, as I assumed, ZEN released new details, screenshots and a trailer for the game’s Blade table (below).
To celebrate Zen Studios' new table modeled after Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy, the virtual pinball developer is now offering the iOS version of Marvel Pinball at no charge. Like all of Zen's recent pinball games, Marvel Pinball is less a game itself, and more a shell that DLC tables...

City of Heroes is going free! NCSoft, the creators of the superhero MMORPG, are retooling the game as a free-to-play title renamed City of Heroes Freedom . Signing up for Freedom allows you to create two different characters as any of the 42 classes under your profile, and offers several of the same options as the paid subscription. Upgrading to the VIP membership gives you free money to the game’s store and exclusive content. No release date has been announced yet for Freedom , but The Comics Console will be paying close attention to NCSoft over the next few months for more details.
The table has a great gritty, but glossy WWII theme with barbed wire and barricades spread throughout, and a ball launcher that is built like an old machine gun. Captain America and Red Skull figures stand at the back of the table with the Cosmic Cube between them. Acquiring enough points allows you to pick one of many missions in the game like taking on Zemo, and a series of laser blasts or a straight up fist fight between Cap and Skull. It’s these missions that make Pinball FX2 stand out with the figures that come to life on the board.
